Lyra Web Template
Built with Dreamweaver 4 and Fireworks 4, this professional
website has room to move, both literally and figuratively.
Characterized by fluid layout that stretches or shrinks the
content based on any browser size. It also contains a core
navigation scheme, with the flexible leftnav to accomodate
either section speciic navigation or content highlights. Make
sure to visit the setup page for more
information.
Navigation
There are 4 areas of navigation in this template.
Core
- Home, Contact, Store, which is a image map. You can modify
the graphics in Fireworks and the hotspots in the Dreamweaver
.dwt file to propagate changes throughout the site.
Main
- Services, Products, etc. This navigation is controlled as
a library items. Simply modifiy the .lbi file (main_navigation.lbi),
then update throughout the site. Make sure to re-publish any
modified files to the web.
Footer
- Home, Contact, Copyright info, etc. This is also controlled
as a library item. Modify footer_navigation.lbi, then update
throughout the site. Re-publish any modified files.
Left
Navigation - This navigation is section specific and can use
a library item (or include file) to add navigation to each
section. For example, the Services page uses a library item
to link to the Services Sub pages and this page uses anchors
to link within this setup page.
Library
Items
Library items are a great way to have easily
updateable info. To create, select the text, click the ASSETS
tab (F11 key), click the ASSETS dropdown menu arrow and click
New Library Item. Name appropriately. Then select the place
where you want to add the Library Item, and click Insert.
Once you change a library item, you will need to republish
of the pages to update on the website. This technique is used
for the top and lefthand navigation.
Formatting
Font
Each Editiable region contains is usually formatted
by CSS which controls the font size, color and hyperlinks.
Because the Editable Regions are not updated throught the
website (rather they arespecific to each page). You must applied
or modify the CSS for each section if you stray from the example
pages.
For
example, I have applied the style "Body"
to this main table but an new table might not inherit the
changes, so you would want to apply the specific changes accrodingly.
